Varanasi: Sport Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre (STC), Varanasi brought laurels to the city with an impressive performance at the U-15 Girls National Boxing Championship, held at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, from June 23 to 29, 2026.
The young boxers from STC Varanasi displayed remarkable grit, determination and fighting spirit, securing two bronze medals in the prestigious national championship.
Akanksha clinched the bronze medal in the 36 kg weight category, while Khushi Tiwari earned a bronze medal in the 52 kg category. Another promising boxer, Sandhya Yadav, delivered a commendable performance in the 46 kg category, advancing to the quarterfinals before bowing out.
The athletes’ outstanding performances reflect the quality of training and disciplined preparation at STC Varanasi. They trained under the expert guidance and supervision of Coach Shri Ramesh Kumar Sharma and Coach Ms. Pooja Yadav, whose dedicated efforts played a significant role in the team’s success.
