Varanasi, February 20: Janak Kumar Garg, Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, New Delhi, carried out a comprehensive inspection of Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) reviewing advanced manufacturing technologies, quality benchmarks and safety systems adopted in locomotive production.
On arrival at the workshop, he was welcomed by Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Arvind Kumar Jain with a bouquet. The CRS chief inspected the Loco Frame Shop, Loco Assembly Shop, Truck Machine Shop and Loco Test Shop, closely examining manufacturing processes, adherence to quality standards and safety measures. He also issued necessary directions to further enhance operational excellence.
During the visit, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Sushil Kumar Srivastava briefed him on the various types of locomotives produced at BLW, highlighting state-of-the-art technologies, stringent quality control mechanisms and robust safety protocols.

Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Vivek Sheel, Principal Chief Materials Manager Shri Alok Agrawal, Principal Financial Advisor Shri Muktesh Mittal and Principal Chief Personnel Officer Shri Lalji Chaudhary, along with other senior officials, were present on the occasion.
The visit aimed at first-hand assessment of BLW’s modern production systems and safety arrangements to further strengthen railway safety standards.
